TURKEY IS A NATURAL BRIDGE THAT COMBINES EAST AND WEST FOR FOREIGNERS ACCORDING TO GEOGRAPHICAL POSITION.
Turkey is a natural bridge that combines east and west for foreigners according to geographical position. The most important reason for this situation is the geopolitical importance of Turkey. When migration routes are considered, Turkey is a natural bridge that combines East and West for foreigners due to its geographical position. Another reason is Turkey's increasing economic strength and political stability. Turkey's "transit country" position has changed in terms of immigration movements in recent years and our country has also become a "target country" at the same time.
In this context, an effective institutional structure was needed in terms of effective management of immigration problems, like the examples in the world, equipped with human rights-focused, qualified personnel and a robust infrastructure that develops and implements strategy and current policies. For these reasons, Turkey has introduced new regulations in order to identify and implement more effective policies on migration. The most important of these regulations is the Law No. 6458 on Foreigners and International Protection, which was published in the Official Gazette dated 11.04.2013 and numbered 28615.
The Foreigners and International Protection Act has ensured the rights of migrants and international protection seekers by placing an effective asylum and immigration management on a sound legal basis. With this law, the legal framework of immigrant and refugee rights has been adapted to international standards. With this law, the General Directorate of Immigration has also aimed to organize in 81 cities, 148 districts and abroad.
